5 Lovely Things

I know most people hate Mondays, but I have to say I really love them, and I love Monday evenings. Perfect for curling up with a cuppa, reflecting on the previous week and weekend activities, and planning for the next 7 days. My normal Monday night consists of a quick hot yoga or Crossfit session, then home to cook dinner and meal plan for the coming days. And of course, this evening is going to be twice as great because The Walking Dead starts again (Daryl Dixon, anyone?) and I've been waiting what feels like forever for it.

01. This weekend saw the first wedding fair of my life, at a hotel in Harrogate, prefaced by breakfast at Betty's Tea Rooms with my mum. Family time is really important to me, so it was lovely to spend the day together and look at all the pretty things to choose from. I'm now a little confused, a little overwhelmed, and a lot excited!

02. Updated my spring wardrobe, complete with new make-up. My skin hates me at the moment, so I splurged on some Smashbox and Clinique to help it combat the winter blues and I'm noticing the difference already. I took a huge bin liner of clothes to the charity shop, disposed of some shoes that were past the sell-by date, and made room for a few key bits from Asos.com and River Island. I also made a Topshop wish list a mile long.

03. If getting excited about a coffee machine makes me a loser, then so be it. But my new Nespresso machine arrived last week and it's been my new favourite thing ever since. There's nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning to a fresh coffee...and croissants from the bakery down the street.

04. I decided if Spring wasn't going to arrive on its own, then I would give it a little nudge in the right direction and decorated our kitchen, living room and master bedroom with gorgeous fresh flowers and plants. It definitely lifts the mood, and feng shui says you need a little life in every room.

05. We're heading up to Edinburgh on Friday for a weekend of eating out, seeing relatives, shopping and sightseeing. Shamefully, I've never visited Edinburgh castle so that's first on the list. Then we're going to a lovely Thai restaurant that we always frequent when we're in the capital. Counting down the sleeps!
